Primary Training and Mary Poppin’s bag

I love my calling with church with the children ages 3-11.  We had a training with other people that work in Primary and had a guest speaker.

This woman has been in Primary most of her life so a very long time.  I loved the way she connected with us as a speaker.  She was very engaging and kept my attention.  She came up with a Mary Poppin’s bag as she calls it that she has with her so that in a moments notice she is prepared.  I took her ideas and went to Pinterest and pinned some ideas for my own bag.

The key to keep children engaged is to move around classroom, voice fluctuation, and keep eye contact.  She mentioned that teaching is not talking we as teachers need to listen and observe.  Last thing that she quoted was, “When they are holding a pen they will tell the truth”  Let children write out their thoughts if old enough.

Don’t dilute the scriptures.  The scriptures will teach by the spirit and they children will understand.

We are fighting a battle with Satan over these children and it starts at their young age and this is a very important time to make sure they are loved and most of all feel safe.

Primary is the Celestial kingdom!
